“Exercise is the perfect tool to reprogram the brain. You begin to look at the world differently, and you see trees instead of a barren wasteland. When you see, yourself moving, that alone is an achievement – proof that you can help yourself” Dr John Ratey
Exercise doesn’t selectively influence anything, it adjusts the chemicals of the entire brain to restore normal signalling. It allows the brain to have the space to remember positive things and break out of the negative thought patterns. It also allows people to have proof that everyone can take back control and create change.
Exercise is such an amazing strategy for improving mental health some of the amazing benefits are;
· Improved self-esteem and self-concept.
· Improved self Acceptance
· Sense of Belonging and Social Support
· Creates resilience from stressors
ECOTHERAPY TOOLS
Mindfulness through ecotherapy is away that we can use the present moment to choose what we believe about the past and the future. A way to balance out perspectives. It is not about making anxious or depressing thoughts go away but rather choosing to not let them run the show, seeing them for what they are, what they have taught you and to move forward. It allows you the space to become unstuck.
GAMES BASED MOVEMENT ACTIVITIES
Dont forget about your little or bigger people (children), movement helps with emotional regulation here are some great games based movement activities that you can do together or instruct them to play.
