Youth Involvement Council

April 28, 2021 Kylianne Farrell
yic Youth Involvement Council

The Youth Involvement Council works with at-risk young people, 8-14 years, to bring positivity to their lives. They empower them to make good choices and feel better about the future.

YIC offers a youth drop-in centre, crisis accommodation, social enterprise, and Mingle Mob outreach and patrol. They work with young people and their families to support them to engage with life in a positive way; that includes helping kids get to school; providing diversion activities that teach life skills and keep kids out of trouble; helping young people who are in the justice system find their way out; providing suicide prevention and coping strategies; helping young people who have experienced assault or trauma to find a way forward – the role we play is different for each young life we deal with.

All unique; all special; and all worthy of their time and care.

We want to inspire our community through the power of story telling, to light a fire within them to step outside of their comfort zone.
